Digital I - PHCO 2320 01 & 02 - Fall 2008

Official Course Description
Through a series of creative projects and critique emphasizing traditional fine art aesthetic and design principles applicable to visual communication in a broad range of disciplines, this course introduces students to computer-based imaging and basic desktop publishing assembly using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign in a Macintosh environment.

Course Objectives
In this course you will learn the basics of digital imaging, from capture to print.  Adobe Photoshop will be the main tool used during the class.  Emphasis will be placed on the techniques used to make a good photographic print from a digital file.  Exposure to artists working with digital tools will also be an important aspect of this course.  Additionally Students will also create promotional material for themselves using Adobe InDesign.  The final outcome of this course will be a small portfolio of images made using the techniques learned over the semester.
